San Chao Pho Suea (Tiger God Shrine) is located on Tanao Road, near the Giant Swing. It is one of the oldest and most famous Chinese shrines in Bangkok. It was founded during the reign of King Nangklao (King Rama III). This shrine is revered by Thai-Chinese and Thai people who believe in the sacredness of the Tiger God.

Inside the shrine, there are several important deities, such as Tua Lao Ya (Tiger God), Chao Pho Kuan U (Lord Guan Yu), and Chao Mae Thap Thim (Goddess Thapthim), each with interesting beliefs and histories. People often come to pray for luck, career, business, and protection from harm. Especially during Chinese New Year or other important festivals, the shrine is particularly lively, with people flocking to worship.

The architecture of San Chao Pho Suea is beautiful in the ancient Chinese style, highlighted by a Chinese-style roof, decorated with delicate carvings and bright colors. The interior is elaborately decorated, making it an interesting place in terms of both faith and art and culture. In addition, there are delicious restaurants and other attractions nearby, making a visit to San Chao Pho Suea a perfect combination of merit-making and tourism.

Traveling to San Chao Pho Suea is convenient. You can travel by many public buses or take the MRT to Sam Yot Station and walk a short distance. The shrine is open for visits and worship every day, from morning to evening. It is another destination not to be missed when visiting Phra Nakhon.
