Tham Sam Historical Site, Phang Nga. Visit the cave paintings from the Rattanakosin period. Located in the city of Phang Nga. Beautiful and shady, meaning the surrounding conditions in front of Sam Cave because there is "Nong Han Sam", a wide pond in front of the cave. And it is a green area because there are many trees. Really shady and refreshing. Before visiting the front of the cave ridge, which shows the patterns of local paintings, telling stories of Buddhism. There is also the carving of rocks in the shape of Buddha images, meaning the cave was transformed into a sacred place.
In front of the cave there are vine panels adding to the mystery. It gives a bit of an adventurous feeling in the middle of the forest. Even though we didnt go inside the cave (I didnt dare go in, lol), we only stopped to take pictures from the outside. What really stands out is probably the image of a fanged giant, which is a large painting in an eye-catching position. These paintings were painted before the time of King Rama V (1910 AD). Some of them have explanatory text in Thai.
With such a great location, it would be a good idea to open a small cute, air-conditioned cafe on the edge of Nong Han Sam Lake, serving a few small dishes and drinks. After eating, you can walk to take pictures at Tham Sam. For locals or tourists who want to relax, it could become a major tourist attraction that attracts many tourists.
Our website records images of Tham Sam as tourist information for Phang Nga Province and disseminates it widely. It may become an important tourist attraction in the future.
