Wat Hong Rattanaram Ratchaworawihan is located in Bangkok Yai district, Bangkok. It is one of the ancient temples with historical significance and beautiful art, like a precious gem on the Thonburi side. This temple was built since the late Ayutthaya period, originally named "Wat Chao Khrua Hong" by Phraya Chotuek Ratchasetthi (Chao Khrua Hong), the founder of the "Hongsakul" family, who dedicated the land to build the temple.
The highlight of the temple is the Ubosot (ordination hall) that houses the sacred and beautiful Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara, as well as the exquisite murals that tell the story of the Buddha's biography and Thai literature. There is also a sacred pond believed to have Buddhist power. People come here to pay homage, make wishes, experience peace, and admire the unique Thai architecture. Traveling is convenient; you can take the MRT to Itsaraphap Station and walk to the temple not far away.
