If you are fascinated by the exquisite craftsmanship of Thai art, the "Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre," or its full name, the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (SACICT) in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, is a must-visit destination. This place is a cultural treasure trove that brings together folk handicrafts from every region.
Spanning over 1,000 rai along the Chao Phraya River, this center was established under royal initiative to provide vocational training to farmers and the underprivileged, equipping them with professions beyond farming. Inside the center, tourists will be amazed by "Sala Phra Mingkhwan," a large, modern Thai-style building that showcases and sells numerous arts and crafts products, including pottery, basketry, tie-dye fabrics, and highly detailed carvings.
Another highlight is the "Arts and Crafts Village," which replicates Thai houses from each region, allowing tourists to experience the traditional way of life. There are also 20 art workshops where we can witness the creative process from the hands of skilled artisans. The atmosphere around the center is lush with greenery, perfect for relaxing, learning about art, and purchasing valuable souvenirs to support the income of local communities and contribute to the preservation of the country's intellectual heritage.
