Roti Mataba, a delicious restaurant in Bang Lamphu, located on Phra Athit Road. Many people may know or have tasted this restaurant. It is a famous Muslim restaurant. Phra Athit Road is another dining area of Bangkok because it is near Khao San Road, which is a gathering place for tourists. This makes Roti Mataba famous in foreign countries because it has been published in various guidebooks. So, don't be surprised if you come to eat and see foreigners sitting at the next table. You can speak to them without fear because no matter how you speak, foreigners won't understand us.
The shop is located opposite Santichaiprakarn Park (where Pom Phra Sumen is located). During the Covid-19 epidemic, fewer people came to relax at Santi Park. On that day, Sookjai Holiday lay on a bench, enjoying the cool Chao Phraya River breeze for a while before walking across the road to eat the famous roti, which now has a slightly higher price due to inflation. However, Bangkok still has many places to relax outside.
Let me whisper a little secret. This restaurant focuses on a very sweet taste, both food and drinks. Sookjai Holiday ordered 2 plain roti pancakes, along with beef massaman curry and black iced tea, which is now sold in bottles (and can also be ordered via Line). The roti pancake is thick and chewy, with a slight stickiness, cut into 4 pieces to make it a manageable size. The soft and smooth taste of the pancake, when combined with the intense massaman curry that has a sour and sweet taste, makes it so delicious that you forget to return to the temple - haha.
Order black iced tea to finish off (there are a variety of drinks, depending on your preference). Today, I'll just try this first. If Sookjai Holiday passes by Phra Athit Road again, I'll definitely add more to the menu.
