Pad Thai Kratong Thong by Ama, Delicious Tha Tien. Don't be surprised when you walk into this restaurant because it is an old building in Tha Tien, open on three sides, painted green in an old-fashioned style. The floor tiles are a bit unusual and there are more foreigners than Thais. Don't think you're sitting in a colonial building around Saigon. As soon as you sit down, they send you a Thai water bowl with ice to relieve the heat, and they say it's the same principle as Jandara - ha.
Even though there are a lot of foreign customers, they welcome Thais very well and are friendly, even playing drums for the customers to listen to.
Don't forget one more thing, this restaurant makes food that tastes like it's for foreigners, which means it's not spicy because foreigners can't eat spicy food. But if you want it spicy, you can order it.
Today, Sookjai went to visit the Thai Massage Museum at Wat Pho or Wat Phra Chetuphon on a holiday, so I had the opportunity to walk around and find something to eat around Tha Tien. I ordered 2 menus, chill.
The first menu is green curry fried rice + honey-marinated pork neck. They sell it with options. For this menu, the main star is the green curry fried rice, which you can choose to eat with anything. There are 4 options to choose from, such as grilled pork neck, bacon (I can't remember the other 2). The taste of the green curry fried rice goes well with the richness of the salted egg yolk. The grilled pork neck comes with a tamarind dipping sauce that is sweet and sour, which helps to enhance the flavor of the pork neck.
As for the old-fashioned omelet, it's just a regular omelet, but it's fried with onions and basil, topped with fresh shallots. But they fry it bland, not salty, so you have to pour fish sauce with chili on it yourself. Ordering it to eat with the first menu enhances the deliciousness.
