Tong Kan Cafe, Delicious Kanchanaburi, Sip on excellent chocolate shots by the River Kwai. This time in Kanchanaburi Province, Sookjai Holiday found a chic and cozy cafe in the tropical style of Tropicana, in a great location right on the River Kwai.
The entrance is very green and shady, blending in with the atmosphere of the River Kwai. It's so hot, let's go into the air-conditioned room first. It's really hot in Thailand these days.
The shop is very cute with many zones to choose from, whether you want to sit in the cool air-conditioned room or choose the waterfront to sit and enjoy the natural breeze. You can even sit on a raft with your feet dangling in the water because it is in the tourist zone. The menu prices are a bit high according to the location.
I can't remember the name of the menu, but it's a chocolate shot in a small glass, served like a shot glass. The intense chocolate layer is above the smooth, sweet cream layer. The correct way is to drink it all in one go. The drink has no ice, but it's frosted and refreshingly cold, followed by another glass of iced cocoa. The taste is intense. The drinks here are at hotel level. I didn't taste the food because it wasn't mealtime yet.
The Tong Kan Cafe building looks like an earth-toned mud house. Local materials are used for the roof, like houses in the tropical countryside. To be honest, just Sookjai Holiday getting to visit the design of this riverside restaurant is worth the price of the drinks.
