Chuan Ma Restaurant, delicious Paet Riu next to Luang Por Temple, a Thai raft restaurant by the Bang Pakong River. Which Luang Por, you ask? It means Luang Por Sothon, the sacred object of Paet Riu. Traveling from Siri Sothon Road, the entrance is opposite Robinson Lifestyle Chachoengsao, turn onto Thep Khunakon Road (the road where they sell a lot of boiled eggs for vows). Pass Luang Por Temple and you will see a small entrance next to the fence. It's called some kind of market here. It's a small market with a lot of things for sale in the evening. Come to the end of the short alley and you will reach Chuan Ma Restaurant. There is an old raft house where customers can sit and experience the atmosphere of the Bang Pakong River raft houses, which no longer exist.
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is good because I have had the opportunity to taste it many times. Sookjai Weekend guarantees the taste for sure.
Tod Mun Pla Krai (fish cake) with a little Ajad, strangely sweet and sour. The fish cake is bouncy and not spicy at all. Served in large, thick pieces. It's fun to eat.
Tom Klong Pla Duk Yang with sweet vegetables, but unfortunately, the sweet vegetables were all gone. Too bad. The soup is a little salty. When mixed with the juicy catfish, the fish that is already fragrant and oily becomes even more delicious.
River prawns with tamarind sauce, very delicious, not expensive (250 baht). This dish is highly recommended. The prawns are fried until the shells are crispy, and you can eat the whole thing (but Sookjai Weekend asks to peel off the shells first because they don't like to eat prawn shells). The tamarind sauce is sweet and sour and thick. Delicious. Small prawns, 6-7 of them, plump, firm, and full of fat. It's colorful with fragrant cashew nuts sprinkled on top.
Sour curry with gourami and coconut shoots. The coconut shoots are very tender, I can tell you. Soft and not hard. The curry is salty and deeply sour, not as sweet as the sour curry in Bangkok, which has become sweet. This restaurant has a more traditional taste.
Fried chicken cartilage, crispy batter, order it with Coke, it's pretty good.
On Saturdays and Sundays, travel near Bangkok. Find a trip to Chachoengsao, a city of true gangsters. Pay respect to Luang Por Sothon and find delicious food to eat and enjoy. Stay overnight for another year of life.
