Kopi Hia Tai Kee Sao Chingcha, a 70-year-old coffee shop next to Bangkok City Hall, has been open since 1952, according to their menu. sookjai holiday had been eyeing this shop for a long time and finally had the chance to visit after a merit-making trip, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, visiting 3 temples and admiring precious antiques from the Rattanakosin era. In the evening, I stopped by the shop. The shop looks cute, decorated in a Chinese retro style. Looking into the kitchen, the staff were standing almost shoulder to shoulder.
Ordered the full-recipe pan-fried egg (full toppings): egg, bacon, minced pork, Vietnamese sausage, Chinese sausage, peas. The sweet and fragrant Chinese sausage is delicious. The minced pork is juicy, and you can tell the Vietnamese sausage is good quality with a fragrant pepper aroma. It comes with 2 slices of bacon and buttered bread, like mini baguettes, sliced and toasted or baked until crispy, served with a slice each of Vietnamese sausage and Chinese sausage.
Ham and cheese spring rolls: spring roll sheet wrapped around ham, and the ham wrapped around cheese, deep-fried until crispy, salty, and savory. The ham is delicious, served with a mayonnaise that isn't too thick, unlike ready-made bottled mayonnaise. The taste is authentic, with a perfect balance of sweet and sour.
Ordered another large glass of iced black tea (seriously, it's huge) and then left the shop to continue walking around because they collect payment when you order. The shop is on the left side of City Hall, more like a U-turn around City Hall. This side has quite a few restaurants.
