As for the legend of Khao Nang Hong, it is said that once upon a time, there were 2 men named Tao and Thao, who were close friends. Tao had a beautiful daughter named Nang Hong. Seeing that Thao was handsome and had a good personality, not old as his name suggested, and also had a stable foundation, he agreed to give his daughter to him. When the auspicious day arrived, Thao brought a procession of Khan Mak to ask for her hand in marriage. Nang Hong was unhappy, thinking he was an old man, so she threw away the Khan Mak, which became Khao Khan Mak. Tao was angry with his daughter, so he kicked the pan upside down, which became Khao Kratha Khwam. The wedding had to be canceled because of this misunderstanding.
Several days later, Nang Hong went to a festival and secretly saw Thao and was stunned because Thao was still young and handsome, not old like his name. She was very sad and rushed home to prepare popped rice and flowers, traveling to apologize to Thao and willing to marry him. Thao was still angry and scolded Nang Hong, making Nang Hong feel very ashamed. She hurried back home crying all the way until she fell and lay on her side in the middle of the forest, becoming Khao Nang Hong to this day.
From the Khao Nang Hong viewpoint, along Phetkasem Road, heading towards Krabi Province, sookjai holiday, park the car and come for a walk at Wat Khiriwong, a quiet forest temple on the Khao Nang Hong route.
