The road to the viewpoint is still dirt, with potholes, and some sections are very steep. There are no barriers along the way up the high mountain. Therefore, there is a two-row car service for 90 baht per person, which includes both the up and down trips.

As for the word Samet Nangshe, or what the villagers call Ban Met Nangshe, it comes from a local legend that this village has an old monk living at Khao Phra At Thao and a young monk living at Khao Phra At Num. Near the viewpoint, there is a nun living there. Each time they walk to see each other, they have to walk through the canal. The nun has to 'met' the cloth up (fold the cloth up) to prevent the edge of the cloth from getting wet, which is the origin of the word Met Nangshe, and then distorted to Samet Nangshe in the present. The name Khao Phra At comes from the fact that the two monks saw the nun folding the cloth, so they had lustful feelings, which in the local language is called At.
