But what is interesting is that the head that is seen today is the head of a Buddha image from the Ayutthaya period that was invited to be put on instead of the original head that was lost. Chao Pho Phra Kan is considered a deity who protects the city of Lopburi from harm. Villagers often bring fruits, boiled eggs, or make offerings with movies and performances when they are successful as requested. It is a picture of faith that has been with Lopburi for a long time.
