Sarasin Bridge Viewpoint is located on Highway 402 (Phang Nga - Phuket) before entering the Chatchai checkpoint. The bridge is 660 meters long and named after the surname of Mr. Phot Sarasin, the 9th Prime Minister of Thailand.
Anyone who has seen the movie or drama 'Sarasin Bridge of Love,' which is based on a true story that happened in Phuket, the bridge in the movie is this Sarasin Bridge. The movie tells the story of the unfulfilled love of a young couple, where the man was a songthaew driver and rubber tapper, while the woman was a student at a teachers' college. Both jumped to their deaths in the middle of the Sarasin Bridge, tying themselves together with a loincloth.
Currently, Sarasin Bridge has been renovated into a pedestrian bridge and has a viewpoint. Phuket residents like to relax and fish there. The province has renovated both ends of the bridge into parking lots and has become a famous tourist attraction in Phuket.
