Phuket Walking Street, Lard Yai, taste Grandma Fon's steamed dumplings in the old town every Sunday. The market opens at four in the evening onwards. I stayed in Phuket for 2 nights before returning to Bangkok and got to walk the Sunday walking street with them. It's lively because there are so many people walking around, both Thai and foreign. There are several performances, including Thai music, international music, and hip-hop dancing kids (very good). Before riding the motorcycle to Patong, I stopped by to walk around Lard Yai first.
Walking to the front of the dumpling shop, seeing the big pieces, I asked if they sell wontons. The seller said it's not wontons, but steamed dumplings. A man who was a customer of the shop quickly said it's very delicious, try it. So I believed him, bought it, and it was really delicious.
The taste is good because of the ingredients used. Especially the sauce for the dumplings, it's sweet and sour and has a rich flavor. After eating it all, the deliciousness still lingers. I thought I would walk around the market for a while and then go back to buy more, but I completely forgot and rushed to Patong instead. Go walk around the Lard Yai (big market) walking street and stop by to support them.
