Somtum Lanthung, delicious Kanchanaburi. Anyone who comes to visit Kanchanaburi must come to Wat Tham Sua once. In the fields around Wat Tham Sua, there are many restaurants and cafes that sell views of the temple on the limestone mountain. Now there are more and more restaurants being built, and each restaurant is trying to find its selling point, reversing strategies to compete for customers and find market share from the Wat Tham Sua tourist attraction.
Somtum Lanthung is another restaurant in the Wat Tham Sua area.
Because Sookjai Holiday arrived at Wat Tham Sua early in the morning, I had to wait for the first cable car up to the temple because it wasn't time to open yet (too lazy to walk up myself). So I took the opportunity to ride a motorcycle around the area and saw restaurants and cafes with interesting features. I surveyed the area before they opened for business.
Coincidentally, Somtum Lanthung was open (but I didn't eat there right away). I tried two of the restaurant's dishes as usual.
Somtum wrapped in egg is Somtum wrapped in an omelet. Whether it's delicious or not depends on the taste of Somtum. For someone who rarely eats Somtum like Sookjai Holiday, I like it with the restaurant's less spicy Somtum sauce, which is sour, sweet, and well-rounded. I've never eaten Somtum with an omelet before, and I never knew it was so delicious. It's a food that goes well together.
Fried pork belly with fish sauce. This dish is fun to chew because it's not too salty. It's served with a lime and green chili dipping sauce that's a bit seafood-like. It's delicious with rice for breakfast.
For the rice, it comes in a cute bear shape (doesn't match the face of the person eating it, haha).
It's time to take the Wat Tham Sua cable car for 20 baht for both up and down. To be honest, just take it one way. It's better to walk down because it's scary and thrilling. Riding the Wat Tham Sua cable car once is more thrilling than riding a roller coaster 20 times (haha).
For restaurants and cafes around Wat Tham Sua, the ones that open early will have an advantage over others. Open early, get rich first. Bye :)
