In the evening, before bed, after wandering around all day, find something to fill your stomach first, in case you sneak out for a drink at night, so you won't be hungry. And a rice porridge restaurant is a must for sookjai on holidays. Today, I tried Khao Tom Bang Pakong.
Rice porridge restaurant on the road in the old city center, not far from Chao Phrom Market (and not far from anywhere, because Ayutthaya city island is very small). Not sure if it's open until after midnight. It would be great if it was open until 5 AM. Ordered about 2 dishes as usual for a solo traveler.
Fried garlic intestines, fried crispy but with a chewy texture, salty and greasy, very delicious with rice porridge, with a hint of pepper. Even after the rice porridge is gone, I still chew on the fried intestines, very fragrant and delicious.
Spicy morning glory salad with crispy pork, the dressing is sour and then sweet, the crispy pork is excellent, lightly bitten and it crumbles in your mouth, how can it be fried so crispy? The morning glory is blanched just right, with a lot of crispy pork on the plate, more than the morning glory. I suspect the market vendors are having a pork promotion these days. Most importantly, it's delicious.
Chicken fried with chili paste, delicious, stir-fried with basil leaves, the sauce is sweet and salty, flavorful, not spicy at all, stir-fried with a little sauce, mixed with rice porridge, very delicious.
Fried dried squid is also served, served with Sriracha chili sauce, it goes well with the menu above.
The photos may not be very beautiful, but I guarantee the taste. Coincidentally, the battery of the mobile phone camera for taking still images ran out, so I had to use an action cam to take pictures of the food, which is a different type of work. Next time I eat Khao Tom Bang Pakong again, I will take better pictures.
