Arriving at Bangkok's largest Chinese market since 4:30 PM, the delicious food shops weren't even open yet. I really wanted to eat Yaowarat fish maw. I searched almost to death and couldn't find a single shop. I found it in front of Chinatown Cinema (Yaowarat Cinema), next to the famous Ouan Kuay Jab shop. The shop's name is Hia Chai Fish Maw in Shark Fin Soup. I ordered it right away for 70 baht a bowl.
Served, try it. With a little bit of Jigg Cho vinegar, you almost don't need to add vinegar. The fish maw is delicious in Yaowarat style, delicious and not expensive. I want you to try it.
Walking into Plaeng Nam Road, I found fried food similar to Hoi Kuai (fish noodles with Kuay Teow), but the shop owner said it was shrimp (also selling Hoi Jor). Fried very crispy, 120 baht per piece. I tried it and it was very delicious. Topped with Boey Chia dipping sauce as well. Everything in Yaowarat is really delicious.
